Evolving Minds Storybooks
Storybooks are a key feature of the Evolving Minds curriculum. They provide a memorable way to reinforce core concepts and tie them into a central narrative. Animated videos of storybooks about three species (piloses, miroungas, harpies) are linked in corresponding lesson plans in the free curriculum so you need not buy the print books to teach the curriculum.
Two storybooks are available in print. While the Dormacks storybook is not used in the curriculum, it offers a companion resource that helps students see how their model of natural selection can apply across different populations. These books are not required, but make valuable additions to a classroom library.
Keeping Evolving Minds Free
All author proceeds from the sale of printed storybooks are used to maintain this website and keep the Evolving Minds Project curriculum free to everyone. So every book you purchase helps advance the Project’s mission! Piloses storybooks are also available free of charge in limited numbers to schools in low-resource districts, thanks to donors to an earlier crowdfunding campaign and donated author proceeds. Professional Development
To supplement the Teacher Guide, we are currently preparing six free instructional support videos. Teacher workshops, a critical part of earlier field-testing, are no longer available due to a lack of public funding. To explore other options for workshops, facilitated discussions, presentations, or consultations, please email Director@EvolvingMindsProject.org.
Quarterly Community Update
